Radiator Fluid

While the main component of antifreeze, ethylene glycol does not expire, any additives to inhibit corrosion eventually do.

Over time the add packs in your coolant will dissipate from the coolant and what is left is highly acidic fluid in your cooling system. This acidic fluid can cause corrosion throughout your cooling system, and can begin to dissolve your head gasket, intake gasket, heater core, hoses, radiator, and water pump. If you have ever heard of a vehicle that blew a head gasket, it is almost always due to not performing a coolant flush at the proper interval.
