Power Steering Fluid

You won't find this service in many manufacturers' service manuals. Car companies compete with each other on how low maintenance their cars are. They only have to get the vehicle

through the warranty period, and then they aren't liable. Then it is on you to pay for repairs.

While modern rack and pinions are more efficient, their small size requires an increase in operating pressure (up to 2500 PSI). This additional pressure raises the operating temperature of the fluid to over 80 degrees celsius.

Heat + Pressure = fluid breakdown/failure :

Fluid failure = power steering pump/rack failure which equals costly repairs.
